HCS Summer Camp 2024

Our summer camp program offers exciting activities and classes that allow your child to have fun while learning new skills and exploring the world around them in a safe,Christian environment. We cater to children in Kindergarten - 8th grade. At HCS camp your child will develop self confidence, team building, and leadership skills while creating memories that will last for years to come. Through a variety of engaging and interactive games and activities, our campers will learn critical skills that can help them throughout their lives such as problem solving, effective communication, and movement skills through fitness and sports. Our curriculum is designed around science, art, sports and movement to engage campers to explore and enjoy the world around them. 

HCS Safety Protocol
HCS takes many steps to ensure that your camper is safe during their time at camp. We will continue our high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, while enhancing our procedures in certain ways. Our adaptability works to our advantage and we have made modifications so that kids can enjoy and still feel safe. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located at the building entrance and all of the classrooms.

Our summer program is technology free and based on 3 Main Goals for every camper: CONNECT, EXPLORE and GROW!
Check out the camp activities below!

LEGO MASTER

Building with blocks never goes out of style and doing it with friends adds a whole other dimension. This class provides a way to master many other kinds of emerging skills, such as problem solving, spatial skills and understanding semi complex tasks. Using three-dimensional objects also enables young minds the ability to plan ahead and make the necessary alterations so the pieces fit together as intended. Campers will learn various skills that will shape the way that they work and interact with others including, creative thinking, teamwork, communication and conflict resolution.

MOVIN AND GROOVIN

During these two weeks, the students will explore various music and dance that they can incorporate in their daily lives. This will help the students to appreciate a different expression of Art and Culture.

SPORTS

The program aims to enhance self-esteem and confidence through physical activities and sports instruction, in addition to promoting fitness and motor skill development. This camp will focus on enhancing physical fitness, teaching exercises, developing leadership and teamwork skills.

S.T.E.M.

STEM is science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators and inventors. By exposing campers to STEM subjects at an early age, it sets a foundation for higher learning in their futures and interest in subjects that are shaping the future of the world we live in. need to be comfortable with to excel in the future.

CENTER STAGE

This class will introduce the campers to stage performance and guide them toward self expression. Campers will develop in creativity and confidence through singing, dancing, and acting.


CARDBOARD INNOVATORS

The simple material of cardboard can be literally anything! Campers' imaginations will be put to the test as they use cardboard to create cars, forts, costumes, and more.

GAMES GALORE

The campers will have fun playing a variety of competitive and noncompetitive games. Games will include relay races, obstacle courses and more. This class will give the campers a chance to choose from a variety of board games that teaches valuable life skills such as teamwork, cooperation and problem solving.

 

HOME ECONOMICS

This class will prepare students with the daily life skills needed to live more functional lives after their primary education. It will cover food preparation, nutrition and wellness, table manners and some simple cooking. The class will equip students with valuable lessons that make them more well-rounded and less dependent on others.

CRAZY CHEMISTRY

Through hands-on experiments, this class will help campers connect real-world situations with science. This class will teach students to understand the properties of matter and its interactions with other substances. Campers will learn how to manipulate elements to produce new compounds and create useful products.

STORY WRITING

Campers tap into their imagination by participating in storytelling through group projects and peer interactions that encourage positive relationships.

 

LIFE SCIENCE

The campers will learn about living organisms, plants and animals. It will help students understand the structures and functions that make plants and animals similar to one another in some ways and unique in others.

MACRAME

Macrame has been popular for centuries as a method of crafting a textile or various decorations that use several types of knots to form a basic shape. The students will learn to create beautiful patterns by knotting fabric. The macrame knots can be made from a number of fabrics such as cotton, jute, etc. There are various types of macrame knots that can be used to make appealing designs.
