  • Responsibilities

    Christian School seeks instructional coordinator. Use knowledge of DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice), PBL (Play-Based Learning), and the New Testament to develop instructional materials for the Christian school. Use knowledge of Piaget’s Cognitive Theory, Parten’s Social Stages of Play, and Storytelling and Story-Acting Practice (STSA) to incorporate

    Play-Based Learning into the instructional curriculum. Use knowledge of Teaching Redemptively, Psychosocial Theory, Cognitive Development to create a classroom management plan for the daily teaching curriculum. Use knowledge of ADHD, ODD, ASD, and OCD to plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum and to guide teachers in dealing with children’s behaviors. Use knowledge of School, Family, and Community Partnerships to develop teacher-family relationships and promote children’s holistic development.

    Requirements

    * Master’s Degree in Teaching with major of Early Childhood Education, or related field,

    * Membership in a Christian Church;

    * Knowledge of DAP, PBL, and New Testament;

    * Knowledge of Piaget’s Cognitive Theory, Parten’s Social Stages of Play, and

    STSA;

    * Knowledge of Teaching Redemptively, Psychosocial Theory, Cognitive Development;

    * Knowledge of ADHD, ODD, ASD, and OCD; and

  • Highlands Christian Schools is prayerfully seeking spiritually mature, passionate, and nurturing early childhood educators who have been called to join our amazing team and minister to our students. We are looking to hire full-time teachers and have several openings available. Highlands Christian Schools is a ministry of the Church of the Highlands and by applying to this position, you are acknowledging your commitment to serving Jesus Christ within the ministry of the school.

    You will be tasked with engaging children in age- appropriate individual and group- based activities to stimulate growth in their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, behavioral, and motor skills. We strive to foster an environment of creativity, individuality, safety, and social maturity.

    In order to qualify for this position you must have the following but not limited to:

    • At least 12 core ECE units, or 2 years experience working in a preschool setting, or 1 year teaching. Some experience working with children 2 - 5 year olds.

    • Must be a born-again believer in an active relationship with Jesus Christ.

    • May be working on a degree in early childhood education or a related field.

    • Must have a solid understanding of early childhood development and education.

    • Must have a general understanding of technology (i.e. GSuite)

    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Responsibilities:
    Use experience with the principalship of a Christian school to administer the Christian School of Grades 9-12 sanctioned by the Board of the Church of the Highlands and accredited by the California Dept. of Education and WASC. Use experience with the setting of educational standards in a bilingual school to plan, organize, and directs instructional activities. Use experience with working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, families, staff, and community partners to promote and maintain positive relations, communications, participation and involvement with community and parental groups. Use experience with Christian college partnerships and collaborations to establishes and enhance relationships with Christian colleges for admissions, staff development, and offering practical training opportunities for college students. Use experience with the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of Christian school staff to enlist, coordinate, assess. and lead faculty and staff.

    Requirements:

    • Master’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting, or equivalent, or related field;

    • 2 years of experience as Principal, or related job title;

    • Experience with the principalship of a Christian school;

    • Experience with the setting of educational standards in a bilingual school;

    • Experience with working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, families, staff, and community partners;

    • Experience with Christian college partnerships and collaborations; and

    • Experience with the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of Christian school staff
