Mrs. Patricia Manss finished her teacher training at Mississippi College, receiving a B.A. in English. She has also completed work towards a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Troy State University.
Upon graduation, Mrs. Manss felt led to follow in her father’s footsteps, and entered the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. After her initial tour of duty, Mrs. Manss left active duty to pursue a teaching career at middle and senior high schools in Montgomery, Alabama.
After receiving a recall to active duty, Mrs. Manss returned to the Army and completed twenty years of active service. She met her husband while serving at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and they have been blessed with two wonderful daughters.
Her last military assignment was at the Presidio of San Francisco, where she was introduced to Highlands Christian Schools when her daughters were enrolled there.
Soon after her retirement from the Army, Mrs. Manss returned to teaching and joined the faculty at HCS. Having served at Highlands for 24 years, Mrs. Manss has taught in 4th grade (her current position), 5th-7th grades, and high school.
Mrs. Manss loves teaching and recognizes the awesome opportunity and responsibility to parents in guiding and instructing her students. To her, teaching at HCS has been filled with blessings beyond measure. She says, “I know I am doing exactly what God wants me to do, and he has proved that over and over again. I want to honor God in my teaching as well as honor the parents whose children have been entrusted to me. Of course, it continues to be a great blessing to work with other like-minded teachers and staff who remain faithful to their calling.”
